APECS panel "International Collaborations and Networking in Polar Science World"

organised by APECS (Yulia Zaika) + CPE (Jan Kavan, Alex Bernardova)

The APECS panel is supposed to help young researchers and students find their way how to design their new research projects, how to start successful collaboration with different international organizations and institutes and finally how to obtain a funding for such project. The leader of the panel will be Yulia Zaika (APECS president). Experience and knowledge with different types of research activities will try to transfer to the young audience our mentors: Josef Elster (chair of the conference scientific committee and head of the Centre for Polar Ecology), Kim Holmen (head of the Norwegian Polar Institute), Terry Callaghan (head of the Abisko reserach station - Swedish Academy of Sciences) and David Hik (International Arctic Science Committee president).

The schedule of the panel is following:

- short introduction of APECS activities and how it can help You (10-15 min)

- short talk of our mentors on related topics (10-15 min each)

- panel discussion Q&A (1 hour)

- social gathering (pizza+beer free discussion + networking; not limited)

The panel will take place in lecture room (room number will be stated asap) in university campus, Wednesday 3rd October afternoon.
