SVALBARD 2011 EXPEDITION

GSM: In case of good weather, You can use your own mobile phone to send and receive SMS not far from the station.
Satellite phone: It is possible to send SMS for free from the Iridiumm web page http://messaging.iridium.comor by email in the form: phone number (without 00/+) @msg.iridium.com (for example: 881632552254@msg.iridium.com) Messages are limited to the 160 characters only!!!

Mail: There is no internet connection on the station. In case of neccesity it is possible to send message to the adress CzechPolar@gmail.com – message will be forwarded (on the USB disc etc.) by the incoming personel. To make it easier please zip your message and call it with name of person to deliver and date of sending (e.g. Kavan_05_08.zip)

expeditions and field work research on Svalbard take place each summer season
approximately from the end of June to the end of September. In the meantime the
laboratory and data analysis are carried out in the different research
institutions in Czech Republic. The university course of polar ecology is
planned on June and July (fieldwork). You can find out more about us
